About Me

Originally born and raised in Rochester, NY, I have been living in Toronto since the fall of 1990.

Since coming to Canada, I continue to learn a lot about different cultures, business, making new friends and just, simply, living a different way of life north of the border. I have always been involved in crafts and I think it was my parents’ way to keep me home and out of trouble…ha ha.

From the time when I was a little girl, I always found myself fascinated with cross stitch. When my mother would take me to the local mall’s craft store, I would see the framed x-stitch pictures mounted high up on the wall which always looked so detailed, clean, neat and perfectly centred.

About the age of 19 or so I got into cross stitch to take my mind off of things and just relax and de-stress after a long day at work or tiff with the boyfriend. Over the years, I began listening to audiobooks while stitching. Just so you know…history repeats itself which can be a good thing.

In the 6th grade, my art teacher used to play comedian records while the class worked away at string art, paper mache, etc. Sometimes it is good that history does repeat itself because to this day I have been able to absorb more books than I have time to sit down and read directly.

After 3 years and as of the end of 2015, I met my personal goal of obtaining my Honours university degree. And now that I’m finished with one goal it is on to the next and beyond!  Woo hoo!  Right now I am enjoying my arts, crafts, friends, family and of course, my two awesome Shetland Sheepdogs.
